Antioxidants in coffee

Coffee provides high antioxidants level like fruits and vegetables. Researcher says that high antioxidants levels in food and beverages don’t necessarily translate into levels found in the body. The potential health benefits of these antioxidants eventually depend on how they are absorbed and utilized in the body. Antioxidants are known to protect against “oxidative stress” by mopping-up” damaging free radicals that are implicated in cancer, heart disease, digestive brain disorders and ageing. Another line of defense is small-molecular weigh compounds which act as antioxidants. Many of these are found in the diet like Vitamin E, Vitamin C. and Carotenoids. Some foods also contain other antioxidants substances these foods include Soya beans, green and black tea, red wine, coffee, rosemary, sage, and other spices, citrus and other fruits, onions and olives. Some of these foods have no known nutritional function, but they are yet important to human health because of their antioxidant potency.
